Farra Fong
Farra Fong, LMSW
OFRA Deputy Director
Farra began her social work career in New York with a camping organization called Morry’s Camp – a nationally recognized youth development organization. This experience cemented her desire to create programs that eliminate barriers and provide access to opportunities that break negative intergenerational patterns and empower people to thrive.
In 2000, Farra moved to New Mexico and began her work in the field of child welfare focusing primarily on supporting young people impacted by foster care. Over the past 24 years she has worked in public and private non-profit settings providing direct services, designing and delivering training curriculum, developing and implementing new programs, leading performance management processes and evaluating impact. With every opportunity, she seeks ways to think outside the box and find creative and innovative solutions that make a real and lasting change. She strives to create inclusive environments where the voices of those impacted by systems are engaged authentically, as experts, and as valuable partners in the systems change process. One of her favorite quotes is by Einstein – “Insanity is doing the same old thing, the same old way, while expecting different results.” She firmly believes that the only true way to make a difference… is by doing things differently and doing it with others!
In her world away from work Farra enjoys spending time with her husband and four-legged children camping and exploring, planting seeds and watching what grows, and dancing like no one is watching.
