Stacie Ortiz, MSW

Interdisciplinary Services Division Director

Stacie Ortiz is a native New Mexican who has served children, youth, and families in New Mexico over the past 23 years in a variety of roles. She worked in the juvenile justice system as a behavioral health therapist in the Youth Services Center, as a school social worker in charter schools, as a Certified Child Life Specialist with the UNM Hospital, and as a clinical case manager with the UNM Developmental Care Program in the Newborn Intensive Care Unit. Stacie has also been a CASA, performed home studies for treatment foster care providers, and served as a behavioral health care coordinator with the Medicaid Division of Blue Cross Blue Shield of New Mexico. Stacie gained leadership experience as Director of Patient Navigation at Casa Esperanza and as Director of Student Support at Health Leadership High School. She also worked as a social work field liaison at New Mexico State University and has experience supervising social work interns. Stacie believes in the power of relationships in the healing and growth process and approaches her work from a strengths-based perspective that honors and respects the diverse cultures in our communities.

Stacie received a Bachelor of Arts degree in Psychology from Occidental College and Master of Social Work degree from New Mexico State University. She is a licensed clinical social worker and certified human rights consultant as well as a member of the National Association of Social Workers. Stacie is also fluent in Spanish and knows basic ASL.

Outside of work, Stacie enjoys golfing, reading, traveling, and spending time with her husband, family, friends, and dogs. She also enjoys watching sports and is an avid NM United fan.
